New charges filed against man accused of sex crimes against children

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

New charges have been filed against a Belmont County man who allegedly admitted to sex crimes while on a job interview with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Martins Ferry police confirmed that Ryker Hill is being charged with two counts of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition.

Investigators said Hill was applying for a job as an Ohio State trooper and admitted to viewing child pornography and groping young children over the past four to five years.

Hill was booked into the Belmont County Jail, but is currently in Athens, Ohio, where he is undergoing a mental health evaluation.
