Obama and Clinton Unite; Local Voters React

Sens. Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton have spent the last 16 months as rivals, and Friday they made a joint appearance in Unity, N.H.

Clinton told Democratic supporters that they are one Democratic Party and one America as they try to take back their country.

They said they are working like teammates for peace, prosperity and progress and uniting over political issues.

Would Ohio Valley voters be happy if an Obama-Clinton dream ticket was in the near future?

"I think it would be a great idea, brilliant idea on both sides," said Sue Weigand of Martin's Ferry, Ohio.

While both camps are silent on if that could happen, Obama is just glad they're both on the same page.

"Today I could not be happier and more honored and more moved that we are sharing the stage as allies," said Obama

But what about Hillary's followers: Would they support Obama or fall back to the Republicans and John McCain?

"I think if Hillary is part of the Obama team, she's going to keep the votes," said Weigand.

Others do not think the strategy is working. "It's not going to be repaired during this election, come in the future with a candidate that can solidify the party again," said Rich Donell of Weirton, W.Va.
