Officials expect 300 jobs in Brooke County

By NEWS9

BEECH BOTTOM, W.Va. —

Local officials announced Tuesday that a company from Tulsa, Okla. was expected to move to the old Wheeling Corrugating site in Brooke County.

George Lewis, the mayor of Beech Bottom, said Sheehan Pipeline is a union contractor that will build a pipeline from Houston, Pa. to Harrison County, Ohio. Sheehan Pipeline would be the first tenant at the old Wheeling Corrugating site.

As workers prepare the site for Sheehan Pipeline office trailers and equipment, Lewis said Beech Bottom officials were trying to get water, sewage and other utilities to the site as quickly as possible.

"The Business Development Corporation of the Northern Panhandle has leased them the property," said Lewis. "They hope to be working by the first of April."
