Ohio Valley Honors Fallen Soldiers

Many gathered at the Heritage Port Amphitheatre in Wheeling to pay tribute to those who serve in the military.

Veterans, along with community members, told NEWS9 they came out to show their support and give thanks to those who laid down their life for our country.

"Recognition of what’s happened, recognition that the freedoms we enjoy only got here by shedding blood. We didn’t just get them for free. They weren’t just given to us. We had to earn them,” said Worth Paul, a veteran.

Veterans said their message for troops serving overseas now is to be courageous and stay strong.
