The Ohio Valley Mall in Belmont County held its grand re-opening Saturday for shoppers, and local officials and a TV star cut the ribbon to celebrate.

Officials said workers took seven months to put in new flooring, roofing, ventilation and other amenities to make shopping experience more comfortable.

The renovation is part of long-term plan to bring in new businesses, officials said.

"It's very important that you keep a shopping center fresh and relevant to the community," said Joe Bell, a corporate representative. "We know that there are competitors out there who want to do their best to attract the best merchants. We want to do the same."

Shoppers said the re-opening is just in time for the holiday season.
