Pedestrian hit by car in Jefferson County suffers life-threatening injuries

Jefferson County, OH —

A pedestrian was struck by a car on Thursday night in Jefferson County.

It happened along Cadiz Road near Quick Stop Foods around 9 p.m., just about a quarter of a mile from the Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Wintersville.

Investigators with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say a 46-year-old man was attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a vehicle in the westbound lane.

Investigators described his injuries as life-threatening.

The victim was taken to Trinity West initially but had to be life-flighted to UPMC in Pittsburgh.

The driver of the car that struck the victim stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
