COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio --

Police and relatives are searching for a missing elderly man who suffers from dementia and is in need of medication.

Stephen Keuper, 75, of Madison Township, Columbiana County, was reported missing after his family didn't see him all day Tuesday.

Stephen Keuper drives a 2003 GMC Silverado with Ohio license plates. A Giant Eagle Advantage Card traced Keuper to a Get-Go gas station in East McKeesport, Pa., where he was spotted on surveillance video. The family drove to the gas station, but did not find Keuper.

Relatives said Keuper has never gone missing before and his truck has not been in his driveway since Tuesday morning.

"He was here when we left to go to the doctors at 7 o'clock in the morning. The truck was here, so he was here," said Jana Keuper, his daughter-in-law.

By 5 p.m., no one had seen Keuper, and the family started to worry.

When relatives went to his home, which is right next door to his son's family, they found nothing out of place. The home was clean, the dishes he used for breakfast that morning were washed, his bed was made, and his hearing aids were on his bedside table.

Relatives said they don't suspect foul play, but they said it's very important they find him. Jana Keuper, his daughter-in-law, said he takes medication for dementia.

"He really needs those pills because the longer he goes without them, the worse he is going to become," Jana Keuper said.

In addition, she said her father-in-law takes heart medication and he needs that as well.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the NEWS9 Lauttamus Security Crimebusters Tipline at 800-862-BUST. The tipline will be able to pass that information along to the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office.
