Police: Fight over money led to Steubenville stabbing

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

An argument over money led to a stabbing in Steubenville late Sunday, police said.

The victim was stabbed with a kitchen knife in the left hip just after 11 p.m. at Ridge Avenue and Pittsburgh Street.

Curley Davis Clarke is charged with two counts of felonious assault.

According to reports, the incident started when a woman got into a disagreement with Clarke and the victim came out to intervene on the 1300 block of Ridge Avenue.

Neighbors in the area said they are scared and concerned about the violence where they live.

Clarke is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on $25,000.
