Police Need Your Help To Catch Purse Snatcher

Steubenville police closed the books on one purse-snatching case and opened the books on another.

Police need your help to catch the latest purse-snatching thief.

The purse-snatching happened Saturday night inside Kroger’s in Hollywood Plaza. A man, captured on video, appears to take the purse of a 58-year-old woman. The man appears to be in his early 20s, medium built with a thin beard. The woman and another customer chased the man but couldn’t catch him.

Steubenville police said a Crimebusters tip helped them solve last week's purse-snatching incident outside of Wal-Mart in Steubenville.

Police arrested 26-year-old Melissa McCaully of Salinesville in connection with the theft. Authorities said she tried to use one of the stolen credit cards at a store in Wintersville.

Officials said McCCaully is also wanted for several other crimes in Columbiana County.
