But one local bride didn't go on a honeymoon after her reception; instead, she went to jail.
Police said Erica Swisher John was at her wedding reception in Brooke County on July 4 when she decided to leave the festivities and drive drunk.
Swisher ended up crashing into private property, and is now charged with driving under the influence and property damage.
