That 52-year-old man is facing a number of charges for allegedly attacking a female co-worker at the Lady of Las Vegas church.
Chaanine is accused of attacking the woman with a blunt object and is charged with attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, battery with intent to commit sexual assault and kidnapping.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston said since they do not have jurisdiction over the Wheeling church, they do not have authority over Chaanine or any records of him.
