Ousted Boy Scout den leader and Bridgeport native Jenn Tyrrell has been making headlines again this week, after she confronted national leaders of the Boy Scouts of America armed with hundreds of thousands of signatures.

On Thursday night, she was back in the Ohio Valley, and News Nine's Ryan Eldredge met up with her for a sit-down interview.

She arrived in Dallas on Tuesday armed with a petition holding 300,000 signatures, thousands of supportive words from Scouts and a powerful message.

"This isn't just about gay activism. This is about, I'm a mother and you deny me a right to participate in my child's life," said Tyrrell.

Her life has accelerated since April 17, the first night she gathered people to promote change within the scouting organization.

From the GLAAD Awards to parades in New York to her latest trip to Dallas, Tyrrell is taking her nation across the country.

"Our lives have been turned upside-down. It's crazy," said Tyrrell. "It's hectic. It chose us."

Tyrell spoke to Eldredge about a new two-year study the Boy Scouts of America said it conducted.

Tyrrell said she asked the BSA about it during her meeting with leaders.

"I asked if I could see some proof," Tyrrell said. "They said they are not releasing anything to the public."

The organization said the study reflects the beliefs and perspectives of members, but Tyrrell doubts it was even done.

"I can't say for sure, but I'm inclined to believe they didn't," Tyrrell said. "We sent a notice to them on Monday, so they knew I was coming ahead of time."

She said leaders told her the policy is nothing personal, but she feels differently.

"I said, 'It's nothing personal, but I will see you again,'" Tyrrell said. "I'm going to keep coming back until we win."

Tyrrell is still collecting signatures. Those interested can find her petition on change.org.
