JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —
A man involved in the rescue of six Americans from the Canadian embassy dramatized in the movie "Argo" will speak at Eastern Gateway Community College.
Antonio Mendez is a retired CIA officer, author and painter. Mendez will speak as part of the college's upcoming spring lecture series.
Officials with the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce said they are very excited about Mendez's appearance and they believe the entire community will be interested in what he has to say.
"The idea is to bring something different, something special, something memorable to our community," said Sue Hershey, president of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
Mendez is scheduled to speak at 7:30 p.m. April 9 in the Steubenville High School auditorium.
