RG Steel files a complaint against Severstal in bankruptcy court

By Kelly Camarote

FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. —

RG Steel filed a complaint in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware that could affect Mountain State Carbon in Follansbee.

RG alleged in court documents that they were strong armed into turning over their 50 percent control of the coke plant to Severstal.

At this point, it's unclear how the filing could affect operations at Mountain State Carbon.

Severstal recently filed a request to relieve a stay motion in an attempt to recover $100.7 million allegedly owed to the company by RG Steel because of its joint venture to run Mountain State Carbon.
