Sale of Yorkville plant uncertain

By NEWS9

YORKVILLE, Ohio -- The anticipated sale of the Yorkville plant to Esmark was still uncertain Saturday.

The sale was supposed to be finalized by Friday according to deadlines handed down by Bankruptcy Court Judge Kevin Carey in the District of Delaware, but local union officials said they knew of no official deal reached by Aug. 24.

It was unclear if Esmark will be given more time to close the sale or if the second bidder, Frontier Industrial Corp., will be given a chance to buy the Yorkville plant.

Union officials also said Saturday a tentative labor agreement still hadn't been reached between the union and Esmark, although negotiations continue.
