Second Trial Begins In Connection With Proviano Killing

Opening statements began Wednesday in the trial of Douglas Main.

Marlene Smith, convicted in the murder of Anthony Proviano, took the stand to testify but used her Fifth Amendment right not to speak at trial.

Officials said Smith filed an appeal on her murder charge and does not want Main's trial to incriminate her further.

The special prosecutor said the trial could go until Friday.
