'Sex And The City' Hits The Big Screen

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

'Sex in the City' was an HBO sitcom that was a huge hit for years but when it came to a close in 2004, it left fans upset.

Now the wait is over and fans can rejoice as "Sex and the City" movie premieres in theaters Friday.

The movie theater at the Fort Steuben Mall held its first showing at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon with later showings throughout the afternoon.

Fans anticipated the return of stars like Sarah Jessica Parker who plays Carrie Bradshaw, a columnist in New York City. Here’s a little background information about the show: it was a story about a group of females who live in the city who some fans say live their lives to the fullest surrounding themselves with love and fashion.

One fan NEWS9 caught up with said she always liked the TV show and has been waiting for this movie since the day she heard it was coming out.
