Six Bellaire Students Infected With Viral Meningitis

Officials said a total of six Bellaire High School football players have contracted viral meningitis.

The latest case of meningitis was reported to the Belmont County Health Department on Thursday.

A state health department spokesman said the school is working diligently to prevent the illness from spreading.

"The school system itself has taken precaution by sanitizing the locker rooms, putting hand sanitizers throughout, which is a good way to prevent the spread of the disease," said Rusty Vermillian.
