St. Clairsville Police Arrest Man In Connection With Burglaries

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio —

St. Clairsville police arrested a man who might be connected to at least six crimes in the city, including aggravated burglary and car theft.

William Carr, 30, was arrested after police accused him of trying to break into a home on Main Street Thursday morning.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, Carr fled the home. The officer who responded to the scene said he recognized Carr because he had given him a ride just a few hours earlier.

When police went to Carr's home, they said they found drug paraphernalia and crack cocaine in addition to a number of items related to several other crimes.

"Inside the residence we were able to connect this person to several other crimes on this night and from two weeks previous, which includes a stolen car and two car break-ins," said St. Clairsville Police Officer P.J. Stewart.

Police said Carr might have also broken into two other homes Thursday morning.

Carr faces several drug and burglary charges as of Friday. Stay with NEWS9 and WTOV9.com for continuing coverage.
