Steubenville Native, Former WNBA Player In Ohio Valley

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

A Steubenville native and former WNBA player is in the Ohio Valley making final preparations for a community outreach event.

Sylvia Crawley, now the head basketball coach at Boston College, said the Out of the Box event on July 4 is going to be a completely free event with food, entertainment and fun for the community. This is the second year for an event.

Crawley said, "I had an e-mail account where you could get more information about it, and there were many people that wrote in that said how much fun they had, how inspiring it was for them. So I made a decision to make this an annual event."

The event starts at 2 p.m. on July 4 at Fort Steuben. Organizers are featuring a give-and-get raffle. Folks are asked to bring a canned food item for a chance to win sports items.
