JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio —

Two suspects in a shooting that happened last weekend appeared in Steubenville Municipal Court on Friday for their preliminary hearings.

Corey Haynes waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case has been bound over to a grand jury.

Haynes is charged with weapons under disability and improper handling of a firearm.

The second suspect, Edwin Lewis, was found guilty of a falsification charge.

A judge dismissed a weapons charge for Lewis after the court found no evidence connecting Lewis to the gun.

Both men’s arrests stem from an Oct. 27 shooting on Summit Avenue, where officers found bullet holes in the side of a car. There were no reported injuries.
