Steubenville To Mount Additional Surveillance Cameras

More surveillance cameras will soon be mounted throughout the city of Steubenville.

Police Chief Bill McCafferty said that five more cameras will watch over the city streets and 10 will be installed throughout the parks.

Police believe that the additional cameras will help protect citizens and curb crime and vandalism.

“I believe they’ve done an excellent job. They’ve cut down on our calls, cut down on crime calls in the area they’ve been placed and we’re really pleased with it,” said McCafferty.

Many of the cameras are being purchased with grant money, but the city is also chipping in.

They will be installed when the weather improves.
