Police in Steubenville and Weirton worked together Tuesday night to arrest a man on drug charges while investigating a shots-fired incident.

Jerek Quinn-Maurice Wesley, 23, of Mingo Junction, is charged with possession with intent to deliver as well as a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case began with an incident in Steubenville's Hilltop neighborhood a few weeks ago in which two people were shot at with an assault rifle.

Police are still searching for Antonio Johnson, who was indicted on Tuesday by a Jefferson County grand jury in connection to the initial case of shots fired.

Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty said multiple authorities were called to search a home at 1309 Oakgrove Ave. around 8 p.m. The home was the focus of an investigation by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force involving Johnson, officials said.

McCafferty said in addition to the task force, the Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. marshals, Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla issued a search warrant at the house around 8 p.m.

During the search on Tuesday, Steubenville police saw a man leaving the house and they issued a "Be On The Lookout" alert to all local police.

Hours later, Weirton police spotted the car and were led to search a home on Orchard Street in Weirton. Inside, they found 35 grams of marijuana and a 9 mm handgun, but they did not find Johnson.

Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call police or the NEWS9 Lauttamus Security Crime Busters Tipline at 800-862-BUST. Tips can also be emailed to crimebusters@wtov.com.
