Elm Grove house a total loss after fire

WHEELING, W.Va.--

Wheeling firefighters had a rough time responded to a fire at a home at 140 Stone Church Rd. in Elm Grove Thursday night.

The fire started shortly after 5 p.m. and was difficult to extinguish.

The fire was on the second floor, third floor and the attic.

Firefighters said there was a large amount of storage in the building and it made it hard for them to gain access to the attic.

The house is a total loss.

There was one person inside at the time, but they made it out safely.

There is no word on a cause.

Clothing donations to the family can be dropped off at Elm Grove Elementary School.

Clothing Sizes are: Mom- large shirts, size 8-10 pants, shoe size 6.5.

18 year-old girl, small shirts, size 1 pants or medium sweats, shoe size 7.

16-year-old boy, adult medium shirt, 32-32 pants, size 12 shoes.

10-year-old boy, youth large shirt, 10-12 pants, shoe size 6.5.

If anyone wishes to make a monetary donation, an account has also been set up at Untied Bank in Elm Grove under the Cassi family.
