Students sent home, could face school discipline after purposely drinking bottles of breath freshener

By NEWS9

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio —

A Bellaire Middle School student was taken to a hospital and a few others were sent home after drinking breath freshener.

Administrators said the students drank bottles of Sweet Breath early Wednesday before classes began. The product is sold at a number of stores. According to the label, people are only supposed to use a small drop on their tongue.

Superintendent Tony Scott said the students could face punishment.

Scott said the student who was taken to a hospital is doing fine and so are the students who were sent home.
