COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio —

Surveillance video has been released of a brazen armed bank robbery that police called one of the most violent they've ever investigated.

The robbery happened on March 7 at the PNC Bank in Calcutta, Columbiana County. St. Clair Township Police Chief Donald Hyatt said it's unlike any he's seen in his 27 years on the force.

Seven cameras at different angles caught the bold crime on tape. The masked robbers didn't hesitate for a second, bursting through the front door and shoving employees around the bank.

One of the robbers flashed a semiautomatic handgun and leapt over the counter then emptied a drawer full of cash into a brown bag, while the other ordered two employees to the ground and held them there.

A week later, police found a van that had been stolen from the Canton area and abandoned in East Liverpool. Police said they believe the two men used it during the armed bank robbery.

The PNC branch is still offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the two robbers.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or the NEWS9 Lauttamus Security Crimebusters Tipline at 800-862-BUST.
