WHEELING, W.Va. —

Surveillance video released on Tuesday shows a man who robbed a store at gunpoint over the weekend.

The video shows the gunman, without his disguise, pacing outside of the Elm Grove Gumby's Cigarette & Beer World on National Road Sunday evening. A couple of minutes later, a woman knocks on the door and he goes in behind her.

The robber is seen on video holding a gun and taking the cashier back to the office of the store. The robber grabbed a large amount of cash then fled through a back door.

Detectives said the surveillance video also led them to another possible clue. They said the way the man walked and his description are very similar to the man who committed two other robberies in Wheeling this month.

"Well, the last string of robberies that we've had, there are a number of similarities, such as the suspect's build, clothing, mannerisms, weapon involved. We believe that there is a possibility that they're connected, and we are exploring that," said Wheeling Police Department Chief Deputy Martin Kimball.

Investigators said he slightly drags his right foot when he walks, and they hope that trait will lead to someone recognizing the robber.

"He does have a distinctive gait in his walk and that is a big clue that we are hoping some citizens may be able to point us in the right direction," Kimball said.

Police said they believe he fled in a gray or silver car, which was also seen on the surveillance video. Investigators said they're not sure of the make and model but hope the public can help. It is also unclear if the robber was driving or a passenger.

The robber is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, had a blue bandana covering his face and wore pink gloves.
