Teen arrested in connection with double-fatal shooting in Steubenville

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

A 16-year-old was arrested in connection with a shooting overnight in Steubenville that left two people dead.

 

Police said Ryan Toson, 21, and Otavius Wilson, 19, both of Steubenville, were killed.

 

The teenage male suspect, who is also from Steubenville, was arrested around 2 a.m. Thursday and officials said charges are pending.

 

Officers responded to the Heritage Place apartments upper lot after reports of shots fired with at least one injury. When police arrived around 9:30 p.m., the victims were lying on the ground outside of 815 Market Street with apparent gunshot wounds.

 

Both victims were transported by ambulance to Trinity West, where they were later pronounced dead.

 

Detectives and agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to assist Steubenville police at the scene.
