Teen hit by car, in critical condition

By Ron Ferguson

A 17-year-old Harrison County boy is in critical condition in a Pittsburgh hospital after state troopers said he was hit by a car as he tried to cross a county road.

It happened at 5 p.m. Monday on Rose Valley Road near Adena.

A crew of four troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol closed the road as they attempted to reconstruct the crash.

The boy, whose name has not been released, was airlifted to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where police said he was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the car, described only as a 59-year-old male, was not injured.

It is unclear if the driver will face charges.
