Toronto Woman Overdoses

Preliminary Report Shows Opiates Caused Death

TORONTO, OH-- —

For the second time in three weeks, Toronto Police say someone has died of a drug overdose in their town. Around 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Police tell NEWS 9 two friends found a 45-year-old woman dead in her home on Findlay Street. The woman had lived there for about a year. Police say a preliminary coroner's report shows a high level of opiates in her system, meaning she died of a drug overdose, though the kind of drug is uncertain. Detectives say their investigation into the woman's death will continue, amidst a recent surge in heroin arrests in the Gem City.
