Two men charged with conspiracy, arson in Hancock County

By Alex Koscevic

HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. —

Jordan Hendricks and Matthew Stevens were both arraigned on Wednesday on arson and conspiracy charges. Hendricks is also being charged with two counts of malicious assault.

According to Hancock County Prosecutor James Davis, Hendricks got into an argument with two people on Cove Road in Weirton in December 2011. During that altercation, Hendricks used a board and hammer to assault them, Davis said.

Hendricks and Davis went back to that house about a week later and committed arson, Davis said.
"He (Hendricks) obtained some gasoline from a residence, went to the other residence, poured on materials on the porch, set it afire, and took off," Davis said.

Hendricks is being held with bail set at $50,000. He is set to appear in court again on Oct. 15, when a trial date should be set.
