Two Murders In Less Than One Month

In the past 16 days, acts of violence in Steubenville killed two young people.

18 year-old Camay Youngblood lost her life on July 13 after being brutally stabbed in the Labell section of Steubenville.

Violence also claimed the life of 28 year-old Joshua Ryan Sweat after someone shot Sweat in the back of the head.

Now, folks in the area are scared.

Charles Cody of Burgettstown said, "I work at the mill and when I'm on daylight I stop at the Speedway gas station but I lock my doors every time because you can't trust anyone around here."

Tonya Householder of Empire was born and raised in Steubenville but she said the area is too dangerous now and she won't raise her kids in the city.

"I remember when I was little, I could walk down the street and didn't have to worry about it. Now, you better watch where you live because if you look at someone wrong, you're a dead person," said Householder.

Householder said over the years, crime in Steubenville has grown.

"For being as small as it is, it's getting as bad as New York and Chicago. Pretty soon, that's all it's going to be like," said Householder.
