WETZEL COUNTY, W.Va. --

Two people were found dead Sunday after someone called 911 and asked officials to check on the well being of a Wetzel County man and woman.

When officials arrived at the home around 10:15 a.m. on Richwood Run Road in Jacksonburg, they found a man and woman dead.

Sheriff James Hoskins said the victims were a 52-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman. Hoskins said the incident started with domestic violence and then escalated before it ended with the two deaths.

"The 911 Center received a telephone call wanting to check on the well being of residents in Jacksonburg," said Hoskins. "My deputy responded to that residence, and that's where we had discovered the tragedy that happened."

The Sheriff's Office is releasing very few details as the case is still under investigation. Hoskins said autopsies will be performed to determine the causes of death.
