Valley Converting Recognized For Recycling Efforts

WTOV9 is proud to recognize Valley Converting in Toronto as another local company in the Ohio Valley that’s doing its part to be friendly to the environment.

Valley Converting in Toronto is WTOV9’s latest Going Green Business Award recipient.

The family-owned business has been in business since 1973 and it is a 100 percent recyclable waste paper mill.

The company buys scrap paper, brings it in and converts it into cardboard, such as that used for the backs of notebooks.

"We're able to make a living and provide for families in the area, and recycle, so it's wonderful to make money and recycle at the same time, " said Mike Biasi, president of Valley Converting.

In 2207, Valley Converting processed 25,000 tons of recycled paper from Jefferson and Belmont counties and made 24,000 tons of actual cardboard, officials said.
