WILMINGTON, N.C. —

NBC's "Revolution" continues to attract viewers and TV-industry buzz because of its twisty story lines and high production value.

NEWS9 has learned an Uhrichsville native is working on the show, both behind the scenes and occasionally on-camera.

Scott Oberholzer is a second assistant director on the show, which is in production in his adopted hometown of Wilmington, N.C. He got his start in TV as a news videographer at WTOV9. He got his start in the entertainment business as a professional wrestler.

"It's like shooting a feature film every episode," said Oberholzer. "It's a challenge, it's tough, long days. Big elements. Sword fights. Explosions. Things that are going to happen in the next couple of weeks that I can't talk about."

The story is set in a future in which electrical power has gone out, and real power rests in the hands of an oppressive militia. In last week's episode, Oberholzer stepped in front of the camera as a militia guardsman. In the scene, Oberholzer attacks a man in an effort to extract information from another prisoner.

"They told me, 'Hey, it's a big scene,'" said Oberholzer. "'Pivotal. Get physical if you have to.' By about the third take, I came across the line like (Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker) James Harrison. I think [I] went to the wrestling approach after that."

During the filming of that scene, Oberholzer was also working as assistant second director, meaning he had to call "action" and "cut" before and after roughing up another character.

Oberholzer said his appearance is not the only reference to the Ohio Valley reference viewers will see in the first season of "Revolution." To keep from spoiling an important plot point, WTOV9 won't reveal it here.

However, the scene, which is in tonight's installment, involves a lighthouse that mysteriously illuminated at the end of last week's episode.

"Revolution" airs Monday nights at 10 p.m. on WTOV9.
