WEIRTON, W.Va. —
In honor of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, Weir High School held its Take A Veteran To School program on Thursday.
William Schwertfeger, George Ash and Dan Wolverton Sr., who are all veterans, spoke about their accounts of being at war and answered questions from the audience.
Students, including Wolverton's grandson, helped organize the program.
"It's cool. It happened a lot time ago, but they still have interest in it," said Austin Wolverton. "I think it's special. I think he is my hero, if I could pick one out of my life. He is a pretty special person."
The program is sponsored by the History channel and Comcast.
