Weirton home heavily damaged by fire

WEIRTON, W.Va. —





A Weirton couple is receiving help after a fire tore through their home early Thursday.

Investigators said they believe a gas furnace caused the fire at 226 Pleasantview Ave. around 6 a.m.

The blaze caused a large amount of damage at the house and killed two cats.

The West Virginia Red Knights gave the couple $100 in gift cards to help out.
