Wellsville police warning residents of possible door-to-door scheme

By NEWS9

Wellsville police chief Joe Scarabino told NEWS9 his department has received reports of individuals going door-to-door in the village who claim to be from the Pittsburgh area.  The individuals ask residents if they need any work done around the house. Chief Scarabino said it does not appear to be legitimate. Soliciting business door-to-door is illegal without a permit. Scarabino said there have been no permits filed with the village. Police couldn't release further details, but said they are still investigating. Police are asking residents to be aware and report any suspicious activity.
