West Lib basketball player crashes car, charged with DUI

By Philip Stahl

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. —

A West Liberty University basketball player was arrested early Thursday after he crashed his car and was allegedly drunk.

Cedric Harris was taken to the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail and is charged with driving under the influence.

Sheriff's deputies said they were on North Fork Road in the West Liberty area when they saw a black car driven by Harris that had been in a crash.

Deputies said Harris smelled of alcohol. When they asked him if he'd been drinking Harris said, "No," but a field sobriety test showed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.137.
