West Virginia Racetracks Raising Payouts

West Virginia racetracks are feeling the pressure from Pennsylvania slot parlors. Now the Mountain State slot machines will pay out more money to fight the competition.

The State Lottery Commission will allow higher payouts for some video slot machines, going from 95 percent to 99.9 percent of all money wagered.

To date, racetrack video lottery revenue in West Virginia is down more than $65 million compared to last year.
