Wetzel Co. teacher suspended for failing to follow school's code of conduct

By NEWS9

WETZEL COUNTY, W.Va. —

The Wetzel County Board of Education voted to suspend a teacher without pay for a month at their meeting earlier this week.

The teacher, who is not being named for personnel reasons, will be suspended until Feb. 17.

Superintendent Diane Watt recommended the teacher be terminated, but the board instead issued a suspension.

Officials said the teacher failed to follow the school's code of conduct.

Wetzel County Prosecutor Tim Haught also confirmed there was no criminal investigation in this matter in the county.
