Wheeling auto dealership donates iPads for hospitalized cancer patients

By NEWS9

WHEELING, W.Va. —

As part of a Breast Cancer Awareness Month fundraiser, Straub Automotive in Wheeling has donated 30 iPads for cancer patients who are in the hospital.

Wednesday morning, representatives from Wheeling Hospital accepted the gifts, and Straub representatives said that the iPads will go to oncology patients.

Bryan Fato, Straub Automotive executive manager, said, “A lot of times when patients are in there, they are there for an extended period of time. There is not much for them to do. So this will at least make it a little more comfortable for them and give them something to do while they are there.”

Representatives at Straub said they hope to make this an annual fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is each October.

For every car that Straub sold, the business contributed $100 toward the fundraiser.

iPads went to patients at both Wheeling Hospital and Ohio Valley Medical Center.
