Wheeling Water Line Break Fixed

Water Service Restored, Main Street Still Closed

WHEELING-- —

Mother Nature is certainly considered a factor in the number of water line breaks happening throughout the Valley this weekend. Mount Pleasant has two breaks, while Bethesda dealt with one. But the granddaddy of them all was in Downtown Wheeling, where Main Street is still closed after a 32-inch line broke Saturday morning. The water line was fixed late Saturday night, but Main Street will not be re-opened until at least Tuesday. The City plans to pave the street over the work area Monday, and Public Works director Rusty Jebbia is hoping the weather will cooperate. In the meantime, the people living between 8th and 12th Streets in the Main and Market Street area, and in Market Plaza are on a 48-hour boil order. And if you need to get into Downtown, the best bet is to take Exit 1B from I-70, or come in from the Southern end of the city. Stay tuned to NEWS 9 for the latest on this.
