Wintersville, OH —

Officials with the Wintersville Police Department are investigating a hit and skip that happened on Friday night.

Police say a child was struck by a vehicle after leaving an Indian Creek boys basketball game.

The incident happened in the high school parking lot around 9 p.m.

It took multiple agencies about 10 minutes to locate that vehicle.

Officials said they arrested Douglas Creamer, 51, on a charge of aggravated vehicular assault.  He is in the Jefferson County Jail.

It is unclear if alcohol played a role in the incident.

The child was taken to Trinity Medical Center, and investigators aren't sure of the extent of the injuries.
