While driving along Sunset Boulevard with her puppy, George made a left-hand turn that took her life.

On Saturday afternoon, the car George was driving and an ambulance collided.

Police said George was traveling in the passing lane on Sunset Boulevard, westbound near Tim Horton’s, when an ambulance with lights and sirens on, came behind her.

Police said George did not pull over to the right but decided to make a left-hand turn.

Police said when the ambulance tried to go around the car, the two collided and the impact forced the car feet away.

"You heard it," a witness told NEWS9 on Monday evening. He asked not to be identified, but told NEWS9 he would be making a statement to police.

"She was at the corner (and) the ambulance came into the side of the vehicle," the witness told NEWS9. "The impact was right at the point of the vehicle which ejected the vehicle out to the side."

The Allegheny County Coroner’s Office said George died at a Pittsburgh hospital from multiple traumas to the chest.

Now her neighbors are sending heartfelt sympathies.

“I feel sorry for them, that’s a terrible loss,” said neighbor Veril Miller.

Friends describe George as a wonderful person who was generous, fun loving and had a passion for taking care of animals.

People close to George said she was also a hard worker. Her Steubenville business, Physician Billing was a success. When she wasn’t at the office working, she took pride in working outside in her yard.

The ambulance was on its way to an emergency call and no on in that vehicle was hurt.

The Wintersville fire chief, who handled the ambulance, said the staff is extremely upset about the crash.

Herrington said there is no current internal investigation under way.

"We don't belive our driver was negligent in any way, but we are waiting on the final results of the police report," Herrington told NEWS9
