Woman killed in crash on road named after her family

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio —

A woman was killed in a crash on a Tuscarawas County road named after her family.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Irish Run Road and Tinney Road, near Dennison.

Gilda T. Tinney, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said she was not wearing a seat belt.

Officials said Tinney went around a curve, went off the road, struck a utility pole and went down an embankment.

Investigators are searching for the cause of the crash and said they don't believe that alcohol was a factor.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
