By The Associated Press

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. —

If you've got a fossil, West Virginia geologists are poised to identify it.

The West Virginia Division of Culture and History is sponsoring a "Fossil ID Day" on Aug. 12 at the Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex in Moundsville.

Geologist Mitch Blake will be on hand to answer questions from the public. Blake manages programs at the West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey in Morgantown.

The West Virginia Fossil Club in Clarksburg will also display members' collections and books on fossil collecting.
