WVDOH Plans To Fully Reopen "The Narrows" Early

Rte. 2 In Marshall County Could Reopen Fully By Friday AM

GLEN DALE, WV —

The West Virginia Division of Highways initially hoped to open the Glen Dale narrows" portion of state route two to two lanes by Friday.

By Thursday night, excavating crews had removed enough mud and debris from three separate slides that they now expect the road to reopen all four lanes Thursday night.

Back on March 24th, a major slide caused a deadly car crash in the Narrows.

Now as the road is ready to reopen, drivers say they're a little on edge.

State highway officials are asking drivers to be careful because the road will still be slippery.

Once the Narrows reopens the state may close single lanes throughout the day Friday as they clean the road's drainage system.
