WWDD For December 19th Weekend

Ready or not, here comes Christmas!

I hope you have the spirit by now, but if you don't, you can get it at the Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling - it's the BE Taylor Christmas concert and there is no better way to spend a holiday evening. The show travels to Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall on Monday and Tuesday.

Other holiday suggestions:

The Oglebay Festival of Lights continues - load up the car with the family, some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, turn on the Christmas music and enjoy Wheeling's Winter Wonderland.

The Nutcracker is at the Benedum through December 28th and A Musical Christmas Carol is at the Byham Theater through December 23rd.

Sunday from 9 until 1, the Weirton Elks are sponsoring a breakfast / brunch to benefit the United Way - give your support and get a full belly while you're at it.

MOVIES:

On Christmas Day we will be inundated with new releases, for this weekend though we have THE LORD OF THE RINGS - THE RETURN OF THE KING, which opened Wednesday. It's the 3rd of the trilogy and climaxes as Frodo, the hobbit ringbearer and Aragorn, the uncrowned king, fulfill their destinies and save Middle Earth. I saw it - I loved it and The NY Film Critics and the American Film Institute have proclaimed it best film of 2003 already.

Julia Roberts stars as a passionate educator at Wellesley College in 1953 where she ends up teaching her female students more than Art History in MONA LISA SMILE.

AND REMEMBER, THE BEST GIFT YOU CAN GIVE THIS CHRISTMAS IS THE GIFT OF YOURSELF. TIME IS SO EXPENSIVE THESE DAYS - SPEND IT ON THOSE YOU LOVE AND HAVE THE HAPPIEST HOLIDAYS EVER. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
