WWDD For May 20th Weekend

How about being a good sport this weekend? It's easy with the Pirates hosting Colorado all weekend at PNC Park. It's Weirton Community Day there Saturday at 7:05 pm and Oliver Perez Bobblehead Night!

Or you could go to the dogs at Wheeling Island or the horses at Mountaineer.

If the weather holds up, think about taking a nature walk at Oglebay or Tomlinson Run Park.

See, I'm trying to get you out of the house!!!!!!

Want to be entertained? Tony Janflone Jr. is at the Spot Bar Friday night.

Billy Dean is at the Capitol Music Hall Saturday night.

Christopher Titus has been called the most original comic since Seinfeld. You can see for yourself at the Pittsburgh Improv. He's joking around there through Sunday.

And on Sunday at Rosemont Manor in Weirton, right next to Williams Country Club, its Art In Motion where you can browse and purchase artwork, jewelry, fashion and crafts created by local artisans. This benefits local area high school and college art depts. and the Hancock Cty. Historical Museum Commission. You can stroll on the lawn overlooking the Ohio River in a beautiful setting from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served as well. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on Sunday.

The Weirton Community Players will be performing the musical, "Movin' On Up," which features a variety of songs that include show tunes, disco, traditional and contemporary. There will be a special segment honoring the armed forces (it is Armed Forces weekend). The show runs Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 at the Milton Weinberg Theater. For more info call 304-723-5215.

But the BIG attraction this weekend actually began Thursday as STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH opened nationwide. George Lucas delivers the third and final installment of the prequel trilogy. It's sad, dark and a tearjerker as we watch Anikan Skywalker descend into the dark side. Plenty of other action, too. A must-see but rated pg-13 so don't bring the little ones.

Now may the force be with you and have a great weekend whatever you do.
